Good food and good service. The price is affordable. We got 2 mains, 1 side of rice, 1 naan and 2 drinks for 37

Came here on a weekday evening pretty late close to 8:30PM. When I first arrived, there was a piece of paper on the door saying be back in 15 minutes. I didn't have to wait the full time and I spent the time looking at the menu. I got a paneer jalfrezi which isn't in the menu but there's paneer and jalfrezi so I asked if I could have it. I got a naan as well. Food came out quite quickly and it was hot, naan was really small compared to normal naans. Portions were a bit small in general, but the food was flavorful and the cheese was soft, quite enjoyed the meal. Portion sizes are reflected in the price I guess as my meal was just under £10.

Now the front of the restaurant is refurbished, and the sign is showing the original name "Camden Tandoori" which suits them far better. The curry and rice or biliani is £2.50 to take away or £3 to eat in at lunch time. Now they are offering a £5-dinner (both eat-in and take away). Lamb Jalfrezi and Lamb Rogan Josh are to die for. Where else can you get a quality curry at this price? It's a great bargain, and the owner, Kamal, is very kind and friendly. Just enjoy their tasty curry, and please don't forget to leave a tip.

Went there for dinner tonight and my fiancé and I loved it! We had the tandoori chicken, lamb rogan josh, saag paneer, pilau rice, and naan. We ordered from the regular menu because we wanted leftovers for tomorrow and we were not disappointed by the size of the portions. Not super fancy inside but it was clean, the gentleman behind the counter was incredibly nice, and the service was excellent. The chicken was very moist and the lamb was so tender with an incredible sauce I will never forget. We hope to go back for lunch again before we leave town. We thought the prices were affordable and the food well worth it. FYI: they close a little earlier during Ramadan (~9:30pm) but the gentleman was kind and offered to stay open 30 minutes later for us if we needed more time to eat (which we didn't.)

Wow! What a find. Our local Indian restaurant does madras curry and rice for £2.50 at lunchtime. I have tried it several times and it really is very good. The guy who serves behind the counter hasn't changed for years. You are not limited to Madras at lunchtime. You can choose from several types of curry including Jalfrezi. Lamb or chicken.

Not much to look at but the lunchtime special is a sizeable portion of top-notch curry for a great price.

I used to live around the corner from here. It's no great looker from the outside or inside and to be honest if I hadn't lived close by I probably wouldn't have gone in. They changed the sign to 'Curry 4 U' - super tacky, but still also known as Camden Tandoori. I've had many takeaways from here and recommend the chicken jalfrezi and lamb or chicken tikka biryiani and the tarka dahl (soupy, garlicky goodness). The chicken is always great as is the tender lamb. The naan bread is also super fresh and soft. It's your classic curry takeaway but super good, nothing fancy or trying to be to modish (definitely no Indian 'tapas' or other silly buzzwords here and all the better for it.) The portions are huge too and they do a meal special: curry dish, rice, naan for a £8.95. Now I don't live so close but still go there from time to time when I get curry cravings and it's just as good as it was.
